Becoming a parent for the first time is a completely new experience, and it’s natural to feel uncertain about everything. Especially if you’re starting your parenting journey in North America (🇨🇦 Canada, 🇺🇸 USA), you’ve probably asked yourself at least once: “What should I buy first?” or “What should I order on Amazon right away?”

That’s why I put together this list! I’ve selected only the items I personally purchased on Amazon that proved to be really useful for caring for a newborn from 0 to 100 days.

Whether you’re preparing for childbirth or expecting your little one soon, I hope this helps. No ads—just a real, experience-based list of must-have items.

 

 

 

1.Tripp Trapp Chair from Stokke + Newborn Set 
 

Honestly, this product is hands down one of the best baby items I’ve ever bought—no exaggeration.

Especially the Newborn Set! It’s usable right from birth. Our baby loves it, and it’s such a blessing that Mom and Dad can sit at the same level as the baby during mealtime.

Our little one feeds, reads books(And fun fact: our baby poops so well here that it basically solves any constipation issues—lol!)

Yes, it’s pricey, but we’ve definitely gotten our money’s worth. The hype around the Tripp Trapp chair is real. It might not be for every family, but it worked amazingly well for us, so I highly recommend it!

2.Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro
 

 

We really debated whether to get a bottle sterilizer or a bottle washer. Since both my husband and I absolutely dread doing dishes, we went with a bottle washer.

To sum it up: I honestly can’t imagine newborn parenting without this—total game-changer!

💭 Wondering which product to choose?
At first, we considered the Mamcozi or Baby Brezza, but we decided to stick with Dr. Brown’s bottles. Then we found out that the Baby Brezza is specifically designed as a washer for Dr. Brown’s bottles, so we went ahead and purchased it.

🟦 Pros

• Unlike Mamcozi, you don’t need to connect a drainage hose to the kitchen sink, so it can be installed anywhere.

• Exclusively for Dr. Brown’s bottles.

• Excellent cleaning power. When I tried other products in Korea, I noticed some detergent residue, but with Baby Brezza, there’s no residue at all.

🟥 Cons

• While installation is flexible, you have to drain the water manually each time, which can be a hassle (especially for the first 1–2 months after a C-section, when lifting heavy items is a no-go—so I had to ask my husband for help).

• Mamcozi can fit 6–8 bottles at once, but Baby Brezza fits only 4 bottles because of the space needed for Dr. Brown’s components.

In the newborn stage, feeding intervals are every 2–3 hours, so you need at least 8 bottles per day, meaning you have to run the washer twice daily. And yes, that means using detergent twice a day too!

👉 Do I regret buying the Baby Brezza bottle washer? Absolutely not. 

If you’re using Dr. Brown’s bottles, I highly recommend it. The parts fit perfectly, and once you rinse with water and place them in the washer, they come out spotlessly clean.

3.Mini Portable White Noise Machine

We bought this product and honestly—we’re completely satisfied!

 

 

 

 

 

🟦 Pros

• Rechargeable, so no need to worry about replacing batteries.

• Compact size, perfect for taking along when going out.

• Multiple sound options, from lullabies to white noise—shh sound, ocean waves, water sounds, and more.

Our baby tested several sounds and ended up loving the ocean waves sound, so we play it every night during bedtime. Especially during the last feeding of the day, playing the ocean sound seems to help signal bedtime, and our baby sleeps very deeply. 

Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s entirely because of this product, but our baby has been sleeping through the night from the newborn stage! (About 4 hours at first, now 85 days old and sleeping up to 7 hours straight.)

I highly recommend every parent get at least one white noise machine!

4.Path Pharm Digital Thermometer

 

 

This is a product I purchased on Amazon. At first, I thought, “I’ll just get a cheap one” without doing any research, but I ended up buying this one again later… 😢

 

 

 

 

🟦 Tips for Choosing a Newborn Thermometer:

• Make sure it’s dual-use for both rectal and underarm measurements.

• Babies usually dislike having their temperature taken, so choose a product that measures quickly—it makes life so much easier!

The thermometer I bought works perfectly for both functions, and it was super handy during our baby’s 2-month vaccinations. Highly recommend!

5.Gold Shyft DualRide with Carryall Storage Infant Car Seat and Stroller Combo

✨ Review
Since the car seat and wheels are integrated, all I had to do was unfold the wheels and roll it straight out of the car — no need for any assembly or complicated folding like a traditional stroller.

As I’m writing this, our baby is around 170 days old, and we’re still loving it.

We recently traveled to Korea with it, and I highly recommend this product if you’re planning an international trip before your baby hits 100 days. It made travel so much easier — fewer things to carry, and we could move the baby right from the plane to the car in the same seat.

✅ Pros Summary

• Super convenient: stroller + car seat all-in-one

• Just unfold the wheels after getting out of the car — no setup stress

• Perfect for tight spaces like hospitals and airports

• Reduces luggage — no need to bring a separate stroller and car seat

• Smart features: temperature sensor, location alerts via app

• Highly recommended if you plan to fly to Korea around 100 days postpartum

⚠️ Cons Summary

• ❌ Not ideal for outdoor: The small, lightweight wheels work great on flat surfaces or indoors but not on gravel or dirt paths. (We used a BabyBjörn carrier for walks.)

• ⚠️ Heavier than expected: Carrying the car seat alone is fine, but lifting the car seat + baby + frame together is tough — especially for C-section moms (you’ll need help!).

• 💤 Weak head support: The included headrest isn’t snug enough for newborns. You’ll need an extra head support insert
